How can 'house' be pronounced in two different ways? Maybe it's an accent thing, but in Scotland it can only be pronounced one way - if you have in mind a pronunciation that involves a 'z' sound, that's a bit tenuous for me.

Paulo. The difference as far as I am aware is that when house is used as a noun you pronounce the so to thyme with mouse but at a verb the is sounded as a z. Mind you there was a song about a mouse which went Hoots Mon there's a moose loose aboot this hoose.
