Local rag? Where exactly is local? This bamboozled me and ruined an otherwise exemplary grid with a cracking idea at its core. I didn't get to everything in the time owing to mis-matching things all over the place but I did enjoy the concept. What a shame about the newspaper nonsense. (Ours is a Citizen/tabloid/freesheet) . An alternative is Rising (film from the 1980s with Bruce Willis).

I liked this, with the astronomic overlap between the groups. A teasing puzzle - got there with 30 secs to spare.

Once the celestial objects theme is found it's quite easy to find the connections. Still a very well made quiz.

Clever and challenging but ‘local rag’ and ‘obscene act’ are not very good clues

I think ‘obscene act’ works well, but ‘local rag’ is a bit of a stretch. I think I only got it because I happen to live in an area where it works. Maybe ‘Latin Hermes’ would make a better clue?

poor. mercury may be your local paper but daft as a clue. also pump up the volume is by marrs which doesn't really fit. It's a pity as the other two were pretty good.

Sorry but MARRS isn't MARS is it? You need a sounds like or other homophone indicator for me. Otherwise it was fun.
