I'd never heard of a pick 'n' mix, and even after repeated Googling, I don't understand the items in that group. Are dolphins and shrimp slang terms for candy in the UK, or maybe brand names of candy? Do rings refer generically to ring-shaped candies, like Life Savers in the United States, or something else entirely (like calamari rings, in light of dolphins and shrimp)?
On a separate note, I liked the fish category but was puzzled by the explanation "Native fish." Native to someplace in particular?

Jim, are you outside the UK? I have a feeling pick 'n' mix is a very much a British tradition.

Thanks, Wiz and Miss Slink. I'm in the United States, and Google informed me of what a pick 'n' mix is (our closest equivalent is "penny candy," an assortment of jars of different candies, where each piece costs the same amount, historically a penny but now probably a nickel). However, Google wasn't helping with the individual items; dolphins and shrimp don't seem to have swum across the Atlantic. We do have fudge, thank goodness, though I've never seen it in a penny candy display.
