Actually Port is the right side of a ship and gets its name from the fact that the loading port was normally on that side. So it is a part of a ship.

As mentioned, squeezing Port in to Herring another group is fine, however it has to be valid, it isn't it's a direction as stated.....and also very mean on definitions...battles should be valid, otherwise enjoyed it

This FAMOUS part of the answer is getting old. Famous names, places, battles etc Of course they are famous what would be the point of putting them in the grids otherwise???
