Agree with synonyms and should also allow spelling of dwarves as well as dwarfs.

Mostly a good grid, but a little annoyed that 'timid' was not recognised as a connection for "words meaning 'shy'".

Agree with comments. But understand that the "keywording" of links is probably the most difficult part of creating these puzzles.

So thanks to all puzzle-ers! The better, the better, of course -- in the meantime we can all point the particulars to be fixed (or not) out for future puzzle-ees and credit ourselves as we see fit for the scores we think we deserve.

Synonyms should be a valid answer, as should timid, and nervous. Otherwise, a good puzzle with a couple of nice red herrings.

I introduced the plural 'dwarves' in the hobbit. Until then, and therefore in Snow White, the only plural option was 'dwarfs'
