In what way does the word 'hoover' change its meaning when the first letter is capitalised? Anyway, I suspect that 'Hoover' should only ever be capitalised as technically it is a brandname! :-)

I liked the Hoover line. Can't recall coming across the idea being used before.

Hoover started out as a brand name but is now used uncapitalised as a noun and a verb, regardless of the brand of vacuum cleaner being used.
