Managed to solve this one; I wasn't convinced my answer for the Anchor group was correct, but it turned out to be so. Thank you for setting a good puzzle.

Interesting comment, hardman and muscleman are both definitely words according to Oxford Dictionaries Online. And I couldn't think of much better to use for the "tough" crossovers.
