Good but not enough red herrings or crossovers. And I didn't think information had a plural so ruled that out as a possible answer.

I liked your puzzle... however, I have always understood "information" to be a non-count noun, meaning that it does not have a plural form. I may be wrong, though...

I know people in the UK feel otherwise, but the rest of the world doesn't consider Wales on the same level as Chile, Ghana and Laos. To us, you're just using the word 'country' as a synonym for province or state. It takes away a bit from the quality of your otherwise very nice grid.

Two real problem groups here. Some of these 'homophones' are very shaky at best, and elsewhere in the English speaking world, not homophones at all. Secondly, being a non countable noun is not the same as a countable noun with an irregular (unchanging) plural. "Information", like, say, "Nationalism" just does not have a plural. It does not belong with the other three. Sorry.
