bonehead
never heard of grouse for that meaning, and I thought I knew a lot of Oz slang. Still, some excellent red herrings

@urbanbaboon
4/10, stumbled into the runcible line, kept thinking Edward Lear

Only Me
10/10. Very satisfying grid. And learned a new word, 'Kvetch'.

Just 4 due to red fish and ignorance of Australian slang. So a chook is a drumstick bearer. Er, what's a drumstick bearer? Are we talking barbecued chicken here?

Mister Tom
Loved its variety. 10/10, all thanks to a beer advert!

Cheers, tricky one. Scored 4 after it didn't accept "argument" for the Gripe line but maybe that's just not specific enough. Nice one.

10/10 with 8s left on the clock. Spent a decent amount of time trying to figure out where the other meal to go with Dessert/Tea/Pudding was, until Yorkshire suddenly popped up from the Dales.

Cheers!

Argument's good enough for a point Andy.
You'll have to award yourself the bonus. A chook is a chicken in all its forms, Orlando. Barbecued or pecking around your esky when you're trying to cook the snags ;)

Eerily enough I had no idea that the ACTUAL Australian slang line was Australian slang, but I (wrongly) guessed "Australian slang" for the fourth mystery line.

...Thinking about it, I did know "chook" and "dunny". Probably got more to do with not having slept at all in 36 hours.

Why was "bitch" not an acceptable answer?! XD
Quite fun, though the Aussie slang answers only left me with more questions... Top Hole?! :O

Liked this, tho missed the Oz slang connection. Great crossovers...
