see, I'm not a big fan of anagrams in these grids, but when the puzzle setter generously gives something like "lube" which after 10 or 15 seconds of headbusting you realise clearly doesn't fit into anything, then you go through the checklist of other possibilities and eventually hit anagram, not long after you get "blue,", then you see "genre" and you're off. So intellectually it's a solvable process rather than a blank wall.
