Hmm, didn't really enjoy that grid, sorry. Scored 3/10. Some obscure and strange clues, but that's just my opinion of course, and others might very well enjoy it. Cheers.

10/10 for me. (With a reasonable guess at the Alaska group.) No bonus point, though. Some ignoble ignoramuses might ignore multiple igneous use. :-)

Re ignoramuses: (NB: NOT re ignorami since the root is Latin verb, not noun)
One imagined that a double igneous might flag the bleeding obvious but nay, apparently not. However, one feels "in the fire I gnawed coal" would have been regarded as obscure. So in ire, I ignored that one and allowed rocks to reign, as opposed to rain down.
