Bit of a Curate's Egg, for me. Good clues/links in the main, but have never heard 'babe' used to describe a naïve person, and the Pig's bladder linked solution was too tenuous IMHO. Good effort, though. Thanks.

I think it's mostly in the phrase "babe in the woods" - I got it but it was a bit tenuous.
