When a category is supposed to work with something preceding every entry ("wash"), it needs to work EITHER as a prefix tacked onto the word (as in "Washington") OR as a separate word (as in "wash cloth") but not a combination of both. There is also an issue with too many red herrings here. White and Yellow are both cakes and teas, for example.

I disagree that there are too many red herrings. I think the puzzle is fine as is (although I maybe slightly agree with the prefix comment John made, but it's not that big a deal. The only thing I would definitely suggest is that the "i" for "ington" and the "e" in "er" should be lowercase)

I enjoyed this. I agree with J that yellow and white could be swapped, but that's the only issue I found; I don't think anything else would form a complete solution.
