1/2x looks like you mean divide 1 by 2x, whereas you actually want half of x. This will not help us in our (probably futile) attempts to get pupils to stop using this sloppy way of writing.

I agree with Alexandra below: I read 1/2x as 1/(2x) not (1/2)x to begin with. Would be better if you could write this differently somehow.

The 1/2x needs to be changed. It becomes obvious what is meant by it when left for the final group, but it teaches dreadful habits and I presume this was made for school children?
