Nighteyes
In its group, Bale is the only homophone. Council and counsel are similar, but not identical. Lore and caught are totally different from Law and Court. At least this is true in standard English pronunciation.

Well, Nighteyes, thanks for your feedback, but I disagree. And so does Oxford standard references, which gives /lɔː/ as the phonetic pronunciation for both law and lore. Same for court: /kɔːt//. I'm not sure quite how you speak, but I would suggest that "totally different" is somewhat of an exaggeration.

There is no connection whatsoever in one of the groups: caught does not sound like court and law does not sound like lore if you speak English properly

When I say court/caught and lore/law they sound the same and counsel and council pretty much the same (Goes for my partner too). I like to think we speak English properly !
