Perhaps something clever was going on here which I just missed while solving it ... but I couldn't see where the scope for confusion between the group's was here. Especially with 8 names and 8 not

Mister Tom, there are only four items per group, so 8 names gives many possibilities for a 4-name combination.

I'm with you Mister Tom. But I think it's down to if you recognise the name of any one of the all male group. If you do, it becomes it a doddle.
