Just a really poor grid, too many overlaps and not enough specificity in the groups. Particularly the random grab bag of Prime Ministers first names.

Thanks James - that is highly constructive. You had a decent point re the PMs, (I'm my own worst critic with these things), but ruined that by being an utter dick about it.
I'm a little unclear how much more specific a group needs to be than recurring villains in 1960s puppet shows - a group that probably doesn't excede 10 in total; towns & villages on the Isle of Man (8 options); and the standard 'words that go before x' but hey ho, I will try to get over this period of sadness.

Its harder work coming up with a lot of crossovers and red herrings, but not always appreciated! I don't agree with "random grab bag"- it's only random if its not unique. A good, well constructed grid has a logical conclusion. I struggled with it but can see that it's good, and appreciate it anyway- despite my own failure.

I'm with Lorna, when you've got lots of potential solutions to a group you clearly need to think in a different direction to reduce the options. I like that. Cheers Bindipper.
