The grid was very easy to solve, but you need to put a lot more thought into your connections: 'types of sweet' wouldn't accept 'sweets'. 'Pets' is tenuous, especially for chicken and fish. 'Types of material used for making things' is poor, and should have accepted 'wedding anniversary gifts'. 'Types of stones' is also a poor description, and definitely should have accepted 'rocks'.
