I'll forgive Alice because of the classic film "A town like Alice".
However Zwergin is indeed German for female dwarf but the link is too tenuous as gin Ger doesn't not appear at the beginning like the others. This is supposed to be a Medium grid.

Gin- German was the "in" for me because I use the break between words for hidden stuff myself, therefore I was looking out for it! So to me, it worked and was fair, not tenuous. If even I (crap at geography) got Alice, I'd say its enough to make the link, so also fair enough for puzzgrid!
