I'm unsure if it's deliberate, but having the same word twice in the grid means it's a coin flip whether you guess the correct "Duck" or not! Other than that it's a clever grid and I enjoyed solving it. (And, having the repeated word "Duck" is cute because of the "Duck Duck Goose" wordplay.)

... and Widger, I double checked "The Byrds" and "The Yardbirds" are two different bands.

The Byrds and Yardbirds are indeed two different bands, but The Birds aren't a band at all, at least not a well known one.

Ronnie Wood's first band was The Birds, way back in the 60's.
