Personally =, I think that this grid is too "American," as things like insurance companies, no one outside the US would have heard of. Additionally, I as a la Italian gangster have no idea what a dinner roll is. Is it an American thing too? However keys, market and the rest of roll was good, capice.

The reason I decided to do the insurance category was because I came up with Farmers market and then thought it would be a good red herring for that categoy, but as an American routinely frustrated by super british pop culture on their gameshows, it's something I'll be a little more mindful of in the future. Thanks!

I don't know if dinner roll is American in particular, I guess as an American, it never really struck me that that term might not be universal

@NichKnack, I wouldn't worry about it. As you say, there are tons of country-specific references in lots of grids. Yes, dinner roll as a term is specifically American, but I've certainly come across it on TV or movies, so it's not exactly an uncommon term, and could easily be inferred from the context even if you don't know it/

I personally do not get complaints about country-specific clues. If you're playing a grid that's not from your area of the world, you should expect to encounter some unfamiliar clues from time to time. I do love it when grids have global appeal but they certainly do not all need to be that way. That said, great grid!

I agree with Mack, take note of where the setter is from and be mindful that you might not understand fully some of the clues. I enjoy doing some of the foreign grids as I know I might not get 10/10 but I might learn something new.

I’m European and I didn’t mind the insurance question? It was only frustrating because I was like, it’s either banks or insurance, and went with banks, lol.
