I think synonym should be an acceptable answer for Rend etc. Still, a nice, quick board.

@Tyvent: They're not really synonyms though. They can all just about be made to fit the definition, although I think rend is borderline, but at best they have similar but not identical meanings that can relate to each other in one specific context.
