I couldn't see what the misdirection was supposed to be (and gnocchi is not actually a pasta). Try finding things which will fit into more than one category (and if you can't think how to do this change the category slightly?). For example, you could go for the english transaltions of pastas - Quills, Shells, Little Strings and Worms would make a nice group. (And Worms is a city on the Rhine. I might run with this...)
