Ounce is not a volume/liquid measure, but a weight. One ounce (weight) of water gives one 'fluid ounce' volume, but other liquids will vary, so a fluid ounce (volume measure) of alcohol, for example, will actually weigh only about 8/10 of an ounce.

I agree with Ace, but having lived in USA I learned that the word ounce is widely used in recipes etc. as a measurement of volume. Given that US and UK fluid ounces are different this is even more maddening.

@RMP I didn't know that a US (liquid) ounce was not exactly the same as a UK Fl.Oz, so arguably the grid is actually consistent in US terms.

Thanks for your comments @Ace and @RMP - I amended the accepted answers.

Please include imperial as an accepted answer for the measurements category. Teaspoon is not only a measurement of liquid, recipies can call for a teaspoon of salt. Imperial is a word that relates to all 4.

I took the quart/ounce/teaspoon/pint as a general measurement match (first one I got). I missed the explanation on the Tea match. I guessed "disposable".
