A tricky grid to rate

The connections were all obvious but without a knowledge of US state numbers and whatever Shanghai refers to the grid is impossible . Requiring the same specialist knowledge for all the connections rather dulls the grid with only 21 being possible by illumination

What’s more as a HHGTG fan since its first radio broadcast - I feel compelled to pedantry. The Meaning Of Life is a Monty Python film and has nothing to do with Hitchhikers’. 42 is the answer to the ultimate question of life the universe and everything. It is not the meaning of life !! (Ok I still knew you meant 42 - but still )

Agree with Neil, impossible if you don't know US state numbers and the Shanghai reference was way over my head.

@Chouchou in darts, hitting a single, treble and double of the same number in 3 darts is known as a Shanghai. So a Shanghai of 20 = 120.

I agree with Neil too. Nice concept, but need more variety. I managed it, but only by logically cycling through the Shanghais and states. Could have included other options (key to the door or blackjack for 21), but it was a nice idea.
