Difficult without being entertaining. And pretty abstruse. I mean, first, second etc. letters of words - not exactly something you'd normally be looking for

I concur with most of what's been said above. I wouldn't go so far as to say that it makes no sense at all, but I agree that especially the "orn" and "gin" groups are not exactly realistically solvable. I doubt I would ever have spotted the "ble" connection either, but at least here the pattern is consistent (and not as bizarre as in the "orn" group).
