The German cities group didn't accept "German cities" as an answer

Nice groups, but need to work on the accepted answers (eg german cities, lakes) and the fourth group should accept many ways to explain it.

Confused why it didn’t accept German towns when that was correct - but did accept German towns when it was wrong ! (For European cities )

I do take your input onboard, and I thank for taking the time to write it out, but just accepting 'lakes' or 'German cities' as a connection doesn't capture the extra level of knowledge reflected in saying that they're the names of those things in English, not their native languages.

@Hans, yes, that's all very well, but the grid is flagged as Australian, i,e, an English language one, so you really shouldn't need to specify except when another language is being used.
