I thought the one group was "commonly misused word." As in, people say podium when they mean lectern, or they say font when they mean typeface, or they say cross when they mean crucifix.

i entered 'religious symbols' for 'items found in a church'. i think that should've counted! otherwise, good puzzle

A lectern isn't necessarily a religious item or symbol, so I agree with it being disallowed.
