My second grid, I hope you enjoy! This one's a little trickier. I was considering going with all three letter words, but thought I'd shake it up. I'd appreciate some feedback on this as one of the clues I came up with are a bit fierce and the knowledge is quite niche, I was wondering if anyone would actually get it!

Doesn't quite work for me - too niche in the wrong direction for me! And one group is admittedly approximate. _tang - not in my book! Keep going - really loved your first grid.

You asked for feedback, so here goes.

The Ska-line and the Tang-line, both perfectly legitimate, though I personally prefer to add more than just one letter. Like pants, dog, stand and ground, you can add...

The Fry-line was too niche for me, but I don't mind there being a single niche line in there. There usually is a niche-line on Only Connects own walls, so why not here?

The Mussel-line; the concept didn't work for me. Homophones are always hard to get under time-pressure, so near-homophones is not a suitable category in my book.

3 out of 4 perfectly fine lines should be considered brilliant for a second attempt.

Thanks very much for the feedback William and GridPest! I enjoy the mental exercise of coming up with grids even more than solving them, so expect to see some more in the future!

On reflection, you're quite right, near homophones is too loose, especially if you throw regional pronunciation and specific terminology into the mix!

I often find niche knowledge lines in other grids, a reward and a nod to those who have the knowledge or have it on the top of their tongue, and Futurama trivia is my specialist subject! I could easily make a fiendish grid for it with plenty of trip ups, but I'll leave that for another time ;)
