It is where I come from...suppose it depends on your accent....but here in the Mersey estuary we pronounce them the same...sorry for confusion!

Is Frank really always a shortened boys name?

There needs to be some kind of moderator to check these grids. Far too many regionalisms and incorrect connections (ie Frank and Myrrh in this one) that make so many of them just a frustrating waste of time for most educated people. Sorry ShanC but I think only a LIverpudlian could think that Myrrh is a homophone of "Mare"!

As an educated cockney mongrel I would like to point out that on my night I can be virtually unintelligible in any part of the country. Live and let live goes for scousers too in my book.Enjoyed the grid. Happy Christmas.

Sorry Lindamr and I do take some offence from your comments. For your info I am educated to Master's Degree level and work as a University Lecturer so the implication of me being uneducated is incorrect. I have submitted loads of walls to this site without any issue and shall now not bother submitting again. Thanks Toast for your comments (as ever) and sorry for wasting your time lindamr.

I've cocked up a few of my submissions, so, I say "Mary Chrismess" to one and all!

This is not a cock up, Mare and Myrrh are homophones and Frank is short for Francis or Frankie and in any case you got the point for saying boys names. The mare thing depends on how posh you speak, but the words are broadly the same and the level of criticism is unfounded. Try some of ShsunC other submissions-I always enjoy them. I hesitate to feed the trolls, but - there is a moderator, you, when you rate the grids after playing. Where there is agreement that a grid is bad it will be hidden. If it remains there is no such agreement. Unconstructive comments are unwelcome.
