A nice try, but a whole grid of short elements such as these can lead to a multitude of possible solutions where too many items fit into multiple categories. Eg: 'Hardboard' & 'Water line' can just as easily be 'Waterboard' & 'Hard line'; or you can swap 'Hardboard' & 'Side line for 'Sideboard' & 'Hard line'; and there are even bigger shuffles such as 'Blackboard', 'Phone book' & 'Water line' being replaced by 'Waterboard', 'Black book' & 'Phone line'; or even 'Phone Book', 'Eye Line' & 'Losing Face' interchanging with 'Facebook', 'Phone line' & 'Losing an eye'!

Good grid. The red herrings and crossovers are important elements of Puzzgrid, so well done. I enjoy this type of grid far more than those containing obscure groups, which can generally only be solved by those with specialist knowledge.

Had me stumped, apart from one group! Well done.
